Jane - Family Support Worker for Adults

My name is Jane and I am the family support worker dealing with adult enquiries.I have been a carer support worker for a county wide carer organization offering support and information to unpaid family carers.

I worked for over 12 years as a day service worker in a community based day service for adults with learning disabilities. I worked s a 1:1 worker supporting adults with mild to profound learning disabilities to access their local community and through Person Centered Planning have their say in how they would like to live their lives with the right support and service provision.

Both roles have given me experience in liasing with statutory agencies such as Adult Care Services, Health and other organisations from the voluntary sector.

Family Support

At the society I take calls from families whose adult relatives are affected by Fragile X. It may help to talk things through and get a more personal approach. I am also happy to talk to and give information to other professionals supporting an individual.

Support and Information for professionals

I am happy to speak to social workers, support workers or any professionals involved in supporting an adult affected by Fragile X. We have a range of information that may be helpful to you and by contacting me directly it is possible to give a more individual response.

Please call me

either on the phone, on 01371 875100 or email me directly at jane@fragilex.org.uk  . Please be assured that all requests for support and information are treated with strict confidentiality.

I look forward to hearing from you.
