Leaving a Legacy

Without the generosity of our families and supporters the Fragile X Society could not have developed into the organisation it is today. From the six founding members in 1990 our membership has grown to around 1600 families, all receiving support and information as they need it. Throughout we have maintained our central ethos “families supporting families”.

A significant factor in maintaining that support is the need to generate ongoing income. Many of our family members already fundraise for us splendidly; but for others, who may not be in a position to make donations at present, considering a legacy may be an option.

The Fragile X Society is the only organisation in the UK specifically offering support to fragile X families. Every gift made to the Society will be used to continue that support and extend it to meet the changing needs of our families, to raise awareness and to support valid research.

Remembering us in your will, or adding a codicil to an existing will, would be a lasting legacy giving ongoing support to the fragile X families who follow in your footsteps.

If this is something you would like to arrange, the information that you will need to give to your solicitor is our address which is The Fragile X Society, Rood End House, 6 Stortford Road, Great Dunmow, Essex CM6 1DA, our Registered Charity Number 1127861 and Company Number 6724061.

If you would like us to provide you with a letter for your solicitor please contact Sumati Saxton, Membership and Website Manager, The Fragile X Society, telephone 01371 875100 or email sumati@fragilex.org.uk
