"I wanted to create a safe space for people who have Fragile x to feel like they're not alone."

Amanda shares why she started her podcast and blog about her experiences of Fragile X, and much more.

"I started my podcast for a few reasons actually. The first one being I've always wanted to make one. And the second because I wasn't seeing a Fragile X podcast in the world. I wanted to create a safe space for people who have Fragile X to feel like they're not alone.

I think we live in such a cruel world were people like us are somehow incapable of doing things. And I wanted to help change that. I realise that since I'm a female with Fragile X i'm more functioning then say a male. I'm not shading men with Fragile X at all i'm just saying that it's usually the case.

The podcast happens twice a week on Thursday and Friday. I also do a bonus episode one other day of the week. (Never the same day) The bonus episodes are where i share whats on my heart. All the other episodes are about a specific topic. I'll give you a sneak peak on some upcoming topics:

  • Autism

  • being an extrovert

  • i'm finishing up a four part series on stigma. But i may dive into that again soon.

  • Starting your own business.

  • And a bunch of other topics.

I record the podcast on Anchor and it's available on Spotify, Google podcasts and a few other places.

Now a little background on me!

I'm 25 years old and i'm a podcaster, Pet sitter, Freelance web designer/blogger. I'm engaged to a man with Asperger's syndrome (We're a power couple i must say)

We just moved to South Carolina to be closer to family.

My experiences with Fragile X have been interesting but nothing debilitating. I'm extremely high functioning so much so that you wouldn't know i was "different".
